Employ Milwaukee is the local workforce development board serving Milwaukee County. A Workforce Development Board (WDB) is a system comprised of many types of services that target a broad range of job seekers to prepare and build a diverse talent pipeline of skilled workers to meet the job demands of employers.
Driven by a vision for a healthier Wisconsin, the Advancing a Healthier Wisconsin Endowment (AHW) reaches statewide, propelling the most promising work and ideas to build a healthier Wisconsin for generations to come.
Employ Milwaukee, Medical College of Wisconsin and the Center for Healthcare Careers of Southeast Wisconsin have partnered to develop, pilot, and evaluate the Medical Assistant Accelerated Pathway to Employment Training (MAAPET) project- that provides immediate engagement to wages and on-the-job training to increase a diverse talent pool of medical assistants working in ambulatory clinics across southeast Wisconsin. This opportunity is made possible in part by funding from the Advancing a Healthier Wisconsin Endowment.
